Staff of the Month- Mr. Gabe

Learn more about dance teacher Mr. Gabe below!
Q: What made you decide to become a teacher?
A: Becoming a teacher was one of the easiest choices of my life. All my life I’ve danced, and all of my life I have loved working with kiddos so it just made sense! Plus I absolutely love watching people evolve in their dance language.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A:  In my free time, I enjoy laying down and exploring music everywhere!! It’s so awesome to find music that not many people have heard. I also enjoy binge watching shows on Netflix!!
Q: Did you have a favorite teacher in your dance career? Is there anything you do in your class to emulate that person?
A:  I have two that I can think of right away! One Is Willdabeast, and I try to take his approach to story telling in my choreo and just giving raw passion. The second is my best friend Josh Glenn. I will never get bored of how that guy uses the music to expand certain movement. He also just hears the slightest things in songs and exploits it, and that is something I try to emulate.
Q: If you could teach your students a life lesson what would it be?
A:  If I could teach my students one life lesson, it would be that as a dancer you never stop learning and growing so don’t get comfortable. Also I would say that you have to keep practicing stuff over and over again to truly understand it, so have patience.
Q: What are you most excited for this season with MOVE by Morelli?
A:  I’m most excited to get closer to my students and watch them grow even more!!! The kids are always so hungry to grow and that’s truly the most exciting factor for me!!
Q: If you were a flavor of ice cream what would you be and why?
A: If I were a flavor of ice cream it would be cookies and cream because I eat TOO much of it!!
