Learn more about music instructor Miss Shanna below!
Q: What made you decide to become a teacher?
A: I loved my piano and French horn teacher growing up and always knew I wanted to be one just like her. Plus, I’ve nannied and babysat a ton in my life and love being around kids. I have the patience and interest in it, and sharing music is one of the greatest gifts I have to give!
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I exercise a lot (yoga, weights, running), I love word games and puzzles, and I write songs on any instrument I can find. I perform and work on building my solo music career as “Shanna in a Dress.” (https://www.shannainadress.com/)
Q: Did you have a favorite teacher in your music career? Is there anything you do in your class to emulate that person?
A: My French horn teacher Dawn just always made me feel good about what I was accomplishing musically, and cared about what was going on in the rest of my life too. I always looked forward to lessons, and I hope I can bring that to my students.
Q: If you could teach your students a life lesson what would it be?
A: How good you are at something RIGHT NOW doesn’t matter at all- what matters is that you take small actions to be better than you were before. Effort will ultimately beat talent.
Q: What are you most excited for this season with MOVE by Morelli?
A: I’m excited for the Winter Recital! I love seeing my kids perform.
Q: If you were a flavor of ice cream what would you be and why?
A: Chocolate chip cookie dough! BECAUSE ITS DELICIOUS AND SO AM I
